Statistical Process Control (SPC) has been credited by some analysts (e.g. Edward Deming) for being the most powerful weapon the Japanese used to leap-frog the US in product quality in the latter part of the 20th century. SPC is a simple yet powerful statistical method for identifying quality problems, and for monitoring the effectiveness of subsequent corrective action. SPC programs allow a company to be much more successful at streamlining production processes, which leads to lower costs and higher thru-put. But the major benefit of SPC is continuously improving product quality, which helps the bottom line in all departments. During this seminar many of the SPC principles and applications will be demonstrated using SPC software. The seminar handouts will also include free copies of some of that software, for your hands-on use during the seminar (if you bring a laptop), and for use in your company after the seminar.A brief outline of topics covered are as follows:
